DHS Automatically Extends Temporary Protected Status for Lebanon

The Department of Homeland Security posted a Federal Register notice on the six-month automatic extension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Lebanon, from May 28, 2026, through Nov. 27, 2026. Under the TPS statute, if the secretary of homeland security does not decide whether a country still qualifies for TPS at least 60 days before the country’s TPS designation expires, its TPS designation is automatically extended for six months.

El Departamento de Seguridad Nacional publicó una notificación en el Registro Federal sobre la extensión automática de seis meses del Estatus de Protección Temporal (TPS) para el Líbano, desde el 28 de mayo de 2026 hasta el 27 de noviembre de 2026. Según la ley de TPS, si el secretario de seguridad nacional no determina si un país aún cualifica para el TPS por lo menos 60 días antes de que la designación de TPS de dicho país caduque, la designación de TPS se extiende automáticamente por seis meses.
